Data Analyst

We are looking for a Data Analyst with a focus on Financial Crime Prevention

Who are we – Invidem Product Management

Invidem is a highly data intensive organisation, focussed on delivering a new standard and compliant KYC solution to the Nordic market to benefit both banks and their end-customers.  The Product Management team at Invidem is primarily focussed on implementing (understanding, improving and evolving) the current Nordic KYC Data Standard into a solution, and ensuring that all data and information in solution is implemented and managed in a way that is:

  • Compliant with all relevant regulations
  • Conforms to the Nordic KYC Standard
  • High quality (accurate, complete, timeous)
  • “Understandable” and “usable” to a wide range of stake holders:
    • Internal to the Utility
    • The various 3rd parties and vendors who are helping the Utility develop and deliver our services
    • Clients (banks and financial institutions)
    • End-customers (large corporate who are customers of the financial institutions)

In addition, in the longer-term there will also be a need to support Invidem internal information needs with classic management information and reporting: KPI’s, internal and external data quality and operational metrics, analytics, reports etc.

Data Analyst

This role will report to the Head of Product Management, but will work very closely (possibly embedded) with several other areas within Invidem’s organisation: KYC Information Services (supporting KYC Analysts), the Operational Excellence team, Invidem’s management team, Finance and IT Operations.

The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable creating meaningful data visualisations and reports, data modelling and writing code in a SQL Server database, and working with various data governance artefacts (data catalogue, business glossary, lineage)

Main responsibilities

  • Analysis and profiling of data from 3rd party data sources
  • Defining business logic for mapping 3rd party data to the data dictionary and communicating this as requirements to developers
  • Defining business logic for transforming the content of the 3rd party data for integration into the CLM database and communicating this as requirements to developers
  • Evolving Invidem’s data schemas in our APIs (JSON)
  • Working closely with our Information Architect to continue building out our data dictionary and other data governance artefacts
  • In the longer-term; supporting Invidem, and relevant partners, with management reporting and analysis needs

Preferred qualifications and experience for the role

Required skills & experience:

  • Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree in Technology, Physics, Finance, Engineering or Economics or equivalent
  • Proven experience of data profiling, analysis, and ability to translate these into clearly defined business requirements
  • Understanding of key information management / governance concepts: business glossary, data catalogues and dictionaries, data models.
  • An ability to quickly parse and understand new information and rapidly learn new skills where needed
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where there are still many unanswered questions
  • Good people skills across a wide range of stakeholders; comfortable in dialogues with both senior management and technical specialists
  • “hands on” experience of using Analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview etc.) and writing database queries (SQL)

Desired skills & experience:

  • Has worked in Financial Services – experience with anti-money laundering or KYC processes will be a bonus
  • Experience working with XML and JSON data schemas
  • Experience of working with graph-databases (e.g. neo4j, MS Cosmos or similar)
